The chief of the General staff — chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine army General of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko and Deputy Chairman of the Special monitoring mission of the OSCE Alexander Hg discussed the situation that has developed in the area of the antiterrorist operation in the Lugansk and Donetsk regions. About it reports a press-service of the General staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In particular, the sides discussed mechanisms of implementation of guarantees safe operation of the representatives of the OSCE special monitoring mission and the realization of the mandate of the OSCE special monitoring mission in full.

“We have a common goal is a ceasefire, reducing the threat to life and health of our soldiers and civilians of Donbass”, – said Muzhenko.

In turn, Hg stressed that the activities of the monitoring mission aimed at implementation of the Minsk agreements.

Earlier in the OSCE stated that the police mission in the Donbas may occur in the case that all the 57 countries member States will take the appropriate decision.

As reported, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that local elections in certain districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions is possible only with the improvement of the security situation in the region, the introduction of the OSCE police mission deployment and transfer of control of the Ukrainian side temporarily uncontrolled state border. The head of state noted that he intends to raise the issue of placing armed mission of the OSCE in the Donbass at the talks in the “Normandy format”.

In response, the militants said that the deployment of the international police mission to Donbas will turn into a war.
