Deutsche Welle apologized for the “civil war” in Ukraine

Deutsche Welle said that the material in which used the expression “civil war in Eastern Ukraine” did not meet editorial standards.

Deutsche Welle has apologized for an article in which the conflict in the East of Ukraine was called a “civil war.” The corresponding message on Tuesday, June 12, appeared on the page of the English version of DW on the social network Twitter.

It is also reported that the editors had corrected published 11 Jun material.

“We apologize for the fact that this article did not meet our editorial standards – we have made the appropriate changes in the text. Thank you for attracting our attention to that”, – stated in the message.

We will remind, on June 11 the English version of Deutsche Welle published an article on the meeting of foreign Ministers of the Normandy Quartet in Berlin. The article military conflict in the Donbas was called “civil war.” The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine demanded from the newspaper to correct the article.
