The separatists refused to let journalists into the territory of the DNI, citing the prohibition of special services

DW journalists were supposed to accompany the OSCE mission in Donetsk.

The Kiev correspondent of Deutsche Welle Christian Trippe and his crew denied entry to the self-proclaimed “Donetsk people’s Republic”. This was reported by the correspondent on Monday evening, December 12.

After refusal of entry at the checkpoint “Marinka” journalists are caught between two fronts. Within an hour they were able to return to a safe area controlled by the Ukrainian army.

Journalists Deutsche Welle intended to accompany the OSCE observer mission under the leadership of Swiss diplomat Alexander hug in Donetsk. They advance, in writing, requested permission of the press center of the breakaway Republic.

On Monday evening it was agreed an interview with a representative of the separatists. Despite this, the military at the checkpoint refused to allow journalists, referring to the indication of intelligence agencies DNR, do not allow a journalistic trip.
