Peter Miller died

In 2013, Miller was detained during receiving from two citizens bribes for admission of their relatives to the national University of State tax service.


In Kiev, at 61 years of age from bilateral pneumonia died, the former rector of the National University of State tax service of Ukraine, ex-member of Parliament Petro Melnyk, according to Ukraina Moloda, citing family friends.

Miller died in the hospital of Feofania.

Later this information was confirmed by the lawyer of the former people’s Deputy Igor Cherezov.

“Heart failed… He had so longed for after many years of litigation,” wrote the lawyer on his page in Facebook.

Miller began working in Irpin industrial College in 1978, and since 1991 has headed it. College Miller could turn into a new high school, which in 2006 called the national University of State tax service of Ukraine.

Miller remained unchanged by the rector of the University until 1 August 2013 when he was arrested for receiving bribes to facilitate admission to his University.

After his election to it measures of restraint in form of house arrest, Miller got rid of the electronic bracelet and fled the country. Back to Ukraine it is only in April 2014.

24 Jun 2014 Main investigation Department of interior Ministry has completed the pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings on the facts of receiving bribes by Miller and sent the indictment to the Irpin city court of the Kyiv region.

8 Jul 2014 Irpin city court acquitted Miller. General Prosecutor’s office appealed the sentence.

4, 2015 the Appellate court of Kiev annulled prigovarivaya rector of the National University of state tax service however, in December 2017 Miller was acquitted again.
