Until the end of the year, the European Bank of reconstruction and development intends to increase investment in the Ukrainian economy, said the Vice-President of the EBRD Alan Pius.

Investments by the European Bank for reconstruction and development (EBRD) beginning in 2019 exceeded $1 billion. this was stated by Vice-President of the EBRD Alan Pius, according to Interfax-Ukraine on Thursday, September 19.

“This week, coincidentally, our investment in the country in 2019 exceeded $1 billion in the current year… to the end of the year we are going to invest even more – he said at a meeting with journalists. – This may not be sufficient, but this is clearly not an insignificant amount of investment in the country.”

Pia also added that over the past year have been to Ukraine six times. He stressed that the Bank knows the Ukraine “in detail”.

“We work not only in Kyiv but in all the regions. Work with cities with Ukrainian companies… We are not the people who are flying in from London or other places and looking at Ukraine from the Windows of five-star hotels”, – assured the Vice-President of the EBRD.

On the eve of President Vladimir Zelensky met Alan Pius and declared readiness to develop cooperation with the EBRD, as well as international partners such as the IMF and the world Bank.

Earlier it became known that the EBRD has allocated EUR 400 million loan to NEK Ukrenergo and the development of urban transport in Ukraine.
