Education reform in Ukraine is now the most important, and the first changes can already be seen in school. This was stated by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko at the ceremony of awarding the best teacher Global Teacher Prize Ukraine on Sunday, October 7.

“Education and the future of the formation of personality depends on two factors: first parents, second is the teacher. If you ask me, what reform is the most important, I will say that it is education reform. And this reform is beginning to bear fruit. And if you have any doubts about this, come and look at our modern first graders, who are studying according to the program of a New Ukrainian school. See how they run the school because they like it there, see how they meet their teachers. And this is a huge change that happen” – quoted Poroshenko, the press service of the head of state.

He noted that these children will be those Ukrainians who live in the European Union and Ukraine, in his opinion, will be a member of the EU. “And they will contribute to making our country and our people back into the family of European peoples”, – said Poroshenko.

The President noted that now, with the beginning of the reform of secondary schools also implemented an inclusive education, and teachers involved in the Global Teacher Prize of Ukraine, there are those teachers who spetsializiruyutsya on inclusive education.

According to Poroshenko, the importance of this lies not just in the fact that society’s changing attitude to people with special needs, but that changing the consciousness children are also brought up to respect their country and its people.
