The purpose of the Memorandum is to unite the efforts of the two agencies to prevent violations of electoral rights of Ukrainians.

The Minister of internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov and the head of the Central election Commission of Ukraine Tatyana Slipachuk has signed a Memorandum of cooperation between the agencies. The document was signed on Wednesday, December 5, reported the press service of the Ministry.

The purpose of the Memorandum is to unite the efforts of the two agencies to prevent violations of electoral rights of Ukrainians and the rule of law during the elections of the President of Ukraine, people’s deputies and local elections.

“The question of the prevention of electoral offences and inevitability of punishment for them is very important to ensure that the election process. Therefore, I believe that by joining forces and realizing what the challenges are, we will be able to overcome them. In order that citizens had the opportunity to make choices and were confident that he was reliably reflected in the results of the vote,” said Slipachuk.

In turn, the head of the National police of Ukraine Sergey Knyazev has assured that the police will ensure public safety during the entire electoral process.

Within the signed Memorandum, the parties have agreed on the coverage of information about systemic violations of the electoral legislation, the exchange of information on criminal offences against electoral rights of citizens, on joint detection, the prevention and cessation of offences related to interference with computer networks and government information-analytical and information-telecommunication systems.

The parties agreed to hold joint meetings of managers, experts and specialists through meetings, seminars, conferences, told in the interior Ministry.

Earlier, the CEC estimated the probability of elections because of the imposition of martial law in ten regions of Ukraine.
