The CEC announced the number of registered observers

As of March 15, was the official observers from ten international organisations and eight foreign countries.

The Central election Commission as of Friday, March 15, recorded 742 of the official international observer to the presidential elections in Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the CEC.

It is noted that having considered the relevant appeals, the Commission has registered 44 official observer at the next presidential elections in Ukraine on 31 March 2019: nine from the Office for democratic institutions and human rights OSCE, two from the Portuguese Republic, 33 − from the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America.

In addition, having considered the appropriate treatment, the CEC canceled registration of one official observer from the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America.

Thus, as of 15 March, the CEC registered 742 official observer from ten international organisations and eight foreign States for the next presidential elections in Ukraine.

Earlier it was reported that the Office for democratic institutions and human rights OSCE included 24 citizens of Russia in structure of mission of observers for the presidential elections in Ukraine.

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin said that the Russian observers will not be registered.

Recall, 7 February, Parliament passed amendments to the law, which prohibit the citizens of Russia and the Russian protégé to be election observers in Ukraine.

The OSCE stated that they are disappointed with Ukraine’s decision and stressed that it is contrary to the obligations undertaken by States parties of the organization.
