The Minister believes the conduct of elections in Crimea unsafe.

The Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin said that he considers illegitimate the holding of elections by Russia in the occupied Crimea.

“I think the elections in Russia are illegitimate because they occur on the territory of the occupied Crimea. Moreover, these elections are not legitimate, neither in the political nor in the legal sense,” said foreign Minister in an interview to “Echo of Moscow”.

Responding to a question regarding security at polling stations in Ukraine during the elections to the state Duma of the Russian Federation, Klimkin said: “where is the guarantee that against the background of Russian aggression against Ukraine the same will not happen in the Ukrainian diplomatic missions?”.

According to him, when it considers the possibility of organizing a parcel in Ukraine, then we will study this situation.

Recall that for a vote of Russians in the Duma elections on 18 September in Ukraine organized polling stations in Kiev, Lviv, Odessa and Kharkiv.

According to the Russian CEC member Vasily Likhachev, remains the issue of security in these areas, which has not yet been resolved.

Today at the consular office in Ukraine is more than 81 thousand Russians, who have the right to vote on September 18.
