Ukraine mistakenly introduced Estonia to the list of offshore

The decision of the government of Ukraine does harm to relations and bilateral economic ties, said the head of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Estonia.

The government of Ukraine by mistake has included Estonia in the list of offshore zones. This statement was made head of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Estonia Sven Mixer on a press-conferences on Thursday, January 18, writes ERR.ee.

According to him, Estonia was in the Ukrainian list of offshore zones, as the government of Ukraine improperly interpreterpath the law on profit tax.

At the same time, the Mixer is noted that one of the grounds for inclusion in the list was the taxation of entrepreneurial income 5% lower than in Ukraine. However, the Minister believes that the current in Estonia is 20% tax for dividends even higher than Ukrainian.

“Such a tax system does not allow you to hide the taxes or to Dodge them. We have addressed this issue by the Ukrainian Embassy to the President, Finance Minister and economic Advisor to the Prime Minister of Ukraine,” – said Mixer.

According to him, this decision of the government of Ukraine does harm to relations and bilateral economic ties.

As is known, Ukraine in the end of last year included Estonia, Latvia, Iran, Cuba, Laos, Lebanon, Malta, Morocco, Monaco, UAE, Singapore, Georgia and Hungary in the list of countries that transactions with counterparties are subject to control under the administration of transfer pricing law.

We will remind, in December 2017, the EU approved a list of so-called “tax havens”, which came from 17 countries.
