ЕС хочет, чтобы транзит газа и в будущем шел через Украину

The European Union needs Ukraine as a transit country

The EU insists that the transit via Ukraine should continue after 2019.

The European Union wishes to guarantee the continuity of gas transit through Ukraine after 2019. This was announced on Thursday, October 12, Deputy Chairman of the European Commission for Energy Union Maros Sefcovic, reports TASS.

“We believe that after 2019, this is currently the major transit route through Ukraine – are supposed to function, it is very important for Europe’s energy security. In this case we will have three routes: Yamal, Nord stream, and the Ukrainian transit. Three is better than two,” he said.

“Therefore, we included in the mandate (which is going to the European Commission for negotiations with Russia on the Nord stream – 2) a proposal on how to ensure that this route worked in the period after 2019,” said Sefcovic.

We will remind, the Russian monopoly Gazprom increased gas transit through the gas transportation system of Ukraine in connection with the repair of the gas pipeline Nord stream.
