Yuri Kolobov “canceled” entry to Ukraine

Yuriy Kolobov arrived at Borispol airport from Vienna, and flew to Paris, according to sources.

The former Minister of Finance Yuriy Kolobov in late August, flew to Ukraine. It is reported LB.ua citing its sources on Tuesday, September 10.

It is alleged that on August 28 Kolobov arrived in Borispol airport Kiev from Austria.

“The entry into the territory of Ukraine, he “abolished”, while from Borispol he flew to Paris on 30 August”, – writes the edition.

We will remind, in 2014, Yuriy Kolobov is abroad. In September of that year, the SBU opened criminal proceedings against the Minister and other former members of the government Mykola Azarov on suspicion of embezzlement of state budget in connection with the release of external Treasury bonds in the amount of $3 billion and selling them to Russia.

In addition, according to the SBU, the former officials illegally transferred the Commission in the amount of $450 million in favour of VTB Capital plc (a subsidiary of VTB in London) for the placement of these state papers.

The GPU also investigated criminal proceedings against Kolobov on suspicion of embezzling 220 million hryvnias of budgetary funds. Criminal case opened on charges of abuse of power or official position (part 2 of article 364 of the criminal code). 20 January 2015 Kiev Pechersk district court arrested in absentia of the Minister.

In March 2015, Kolobov has been arrested in the resort town of Altea in the Spanish Autonomous community of Valencia. The Spanish authorities refused to issue Minister of Ukraine and gave him a residence permit.

In February 2018, the Pechersky district court of Kiev satisfied the petition of the GPU and freed from criminal responsibility of the Minister due to the expiration of the Statute of limitations.
