Agricultural exports in January-September this year increased by 24.3% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 13.07 billion dollars – nearly 42% of the total exports of Ukraine. This was stated by Deputy Minister of agrarian policy Olga Trofimova, the press service of the Cabinet.

“The geography of the main regions-importers of Ukrainian agricultural and food products has not changed over the period. We exported to Asia in the amount of $5,525 billion On the second place – the EU countries – $4,177 billion, and third place is Africa – $ 1.997 billion,” – said Trofimova.

According to her, the most significant in the structure of steel exports sunflower oil with 24.8%, maize – 18%, wheat and mixture of wheat and rye and 14.45%, soybeans – 4,84%, barley – 4.6% and rapeseed with 4.6%.

She also noted the significant growth of export of certain commodity positions, compared to the previous year.

“For example, leguminous vegetables, fresh or chilled $20.9 million, butter and other fats produced from milk – to $64.2 million, of frozen beef by $ 34.1 million as exports of apricots, cherries, peaches, plums, increased by almost 8.4% to $ 6.4 million,” – said the Deputy Minister.

She added that in January-September 2017 the import of agricultural products increased by 6.7% compared to the same period last year, or $ 201 million, It amounted to $ 3,202 billion.

As reported, the export of goods from Ukraine for eight months of 2017 amounted to $27.5 billion, with $11 billion accounted for exports to the EU.
