The Ukrainian foreign Ministry advises not to travel to Egypt

In the event of an emergency, citizens should contact the Embassy of Ukraine.

The Ministry of foreign Affairs recommends Ukrainians to refrain in the near future from trips to Egypt and India due to the difficult security situation of these countries. About it reports a press-Department service.

“In connection with the adoption by Parliament of the Arab Republic of Egypt 04.07.2017 informed decision on extension for a period of three month state of emergency in the country, the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine urges Ukrainian citizens to reconsider their plans to visit Egypt for the duration of the state of emergency, and, if possible, to refrain unless absolutely necessary to travel to these States, including for the purpose of tourism”, – stated in the message.

The reservation caused by activation in Egypt of terrorist groups, including ISIL, which increasingly carry out terrorist attacks against civilians based on their religious affiliation.

Those citizens who are already in Egypt, the Ministry recommends that you consider the risks and to observe a number of tips. In particular, Ukrainians urged not to travel to the North and in the Central part of the Sinai Peninsula, in the desert areas West of the valley of the river Nile.

In addition, diplomats are advised to be careful while visiting the North coast of Egypt, the country’s capital and the Delta of the river Nile, tourist places in its valley, the red sea coast (resorts of Hurghada, El Gouna, Safaga, Makadi Bay and Soma Bay) and the southern part of the Sinai Peninsula (the resort cities of Sharm El-Sheikh, Dahab, Taba).

Given the deteriorating security situation in the state of West Bengal, Republic of India, including in the district of Darjeeling, the foreign Ministry of Ukraine recommends Ukrainian citizens to refrain at this stage from trips for tourism purposes in the specified region of the country to stabilize the situation.
