Countries “big seven” supported the retention of sanctions against Russia until full implementation of the Minsk agreements, and threatened, if necessary, strengthen them. This is stated in the final Declaration of the G7 summit, which was held in Japan, reports “Ukrainian truth”.

“The duration of the sanctions related to the full implementation by Russia of the Minsk agreements. The sanctions can be lifted when Russia will fulfill its obligations. We are ready to introduce further restrictive measures to put pressure on Russia if its actions are required”, – stated in the Declaration.

The leaders of the “seven” also stressed that the crisis in Eastern Ukraine can be solved only through diplomatic channels and reiterated the importance of maintaining dialogue with Russia.

In addition, the G7 leaders condemned the annexation of Crimea by Russia and expressed concern over the continuing hostilities in the Donbass.

We will remind, leaders of the G7 countries gathered in Japan for a two-day summit. As the media reported, at the meeting of heads of state “Big seven” intend to put the lifting of sanctions against Russia dependent on full implementation by Moscow of Minsk agreements and to respect the sovereignty of Ukraine. Earlier, the U.S. state Department assured that the impact of sanctions on Russia will only increase.
