The Russian gas company received the maximum profit over the last six years – from 2012.

The net profit of Gazprom under Russian accounting standards (RAS) for the I half of 2018 increased in comparison with the figure for the same period of the previous year at 16.3% – up to 284,1 billion (4.27 billion U.S. dollars).

It is reported by Interfax with reference to the quarterly report of Gazprom on Tuesday, August 14.

It is noted that this figure is the maximum semi-annual net profit of the parent company over the past six years – from 2012. Then it earned 382 billion.

Gazprom’s revenues in the reporting period increased by 18.4% to 2.47 trillion roubles, gross profit increased 41.7%, to 1.21 trillion rubles. Profit from sales increased two and a half times – up to 473.7 billion rubles. Pre-tax profits increased 5.6 times to 382,12 billion.

The company’s total assets from the beginning of 2018 increased by 1%, to 14.52 trillion, total liabilities increased by 1.1% to 4.11 trillion rubles.

Earlier it was reported that by the end of 2017, Gazprom’s profit fell to the lowest level in 15 years – up to 100.3 billion rubles. The profit figure compared to 2016 fell by more than four times.

Also, Gazprom said that the accounts for the year 2017 will contain a provision for payments of $2.6 billion to Naftogaz by the decision of the Stockholm arbitration.
