Gerashchenko: Chiygoz and umer were not asked to pardon them

Геращенко: Чийгоз и Умеров не просили помиловать их

Umerov was released from a Russian prison

In Russia say that Putin has shown “humanism”.

The leaders of the Crimean Tatar national movement Ahtem Chiygoz and Ilmi Umerov, who was convicted in the Crimea, refused to ask the Russian government for clemency. This was written by Vice-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Irina Gerashchenko in Facebook.

“Mustafa Dzhemilev in despair in Strasbourg, during the visit of President Poroshenko and a conversation with him, said that this will never happen. We are proud Chigusa and Umarovi, they are really indestructible. And all these long days of Ukrainian and Turkish diplomacy did everything to avoid any assumptions about the petition, because these characters would never have anything like Putin would not write,” – wrote Gerashchenko.

She also spoke about the difficulties during the negotiations for the release of Chiygoza and Umerov.

“In particular, thank you to the entire Ukrainian delegation to PACE who knew that in Strasbourg, and kept that important secret to not break. Only a few know how much of the negotiations between President Poroshenko with the participation of our dear Mustafa Dzhemilev, how many rounds of meetings occurred in new York, where our delegation raised the issue of the hostages as a priority, and the President asked a colleague of Erdogan to connect to liberation, and in private meetings between the presidents Poroshenko and Erdogan in Kiev”, – said Gerashchenko.

In turn, the head of the Duma Committee on nationalities Ruslan Balbec said that Russian President Vladimir Putin pardoned convicted Chiygoza and Umerov “professing the principles of humanity”, reports RIA Novosti.

We will remind, the leader of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Cemil said today that representatives of the Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people of Akhtem chigusa, and Ilmi Umerov, prisoners in the occupied Crimea, gave the Turkish side.
