Germany 1 million euros increased the amount for activities of the International Committee of the red cross in the Donbass

The German Federal government has allocated 8 million euros for humanitarian activities and projects of the International Committee of the red cross (ICRC) in Ukraine for the current and following years. About it reports “Interfax-Ukraine” with reference to the Department press and public relations work of the German Embassy in Ukraine.

“Support is provided in the framework of the “ICRC assistance, protection, prevention and cooperation relations in Ukraine in the period of 2016-2017 years” (“ICRC Assistance, Protection, Prevention and Cooperation Activities in Ukraine 2016-2017″). After Germany earlier this year has already allocated for support of the project of 7 million Euro, the decision on increase in volumes of financing of a million Euro”, – have informed in Embassy of Germany in Ukraine.

It is also noted that in 2015 Germany has financed humanitarian activities of the ICRC in Ukraine in the amount of 3 million euros.

Recall that the activities of the International Committee of the red cross sent to Eastern Ukraine and covers such areas as medical care, treatment of trauma, support of health care institutions, preventive measures, provision of food and personal hygiene items, water supply, training of medical and maintenance personnel, search missing persons and family reunification, custody of prisoners, gathering information about the danger of mines and remnants of war material and the like.

As reported in the spring of this year, Germany for two months was transferred to Ukraine a humanitarian aid worth 4 million euros.
