Only one loan to Athens via the state Bank KfW has brought to Berlin the interest in the amount of 400 million euros.

Germany in 2010 earned on the purchase of Greek bonds in the framework of the European Central Bank (ECB) 2.9 billion euros. This was announced on Thursday, June 21, the Agency dpa with reference to the answer of the German government to the request of the party the Union-90/green.

In accordance with the agreements concluded, the profit of countries that they received in the framework of the ECB to repurchase Greek bonds to be listed Greece. The condition for accrual is the holding of the Athens of the planned reforms and the introduction of a package of austerity measures.

By 2017, the German Federal Bank in the framework of the ECB earned about 3.4 billion euros. While Greece and the European stability mechanism, the profit was transferred only in 2013 (527 million euros) and in 2014 (EUR 387 million). In addition, the loan to Athens via the state Bank KfW has brought to Berlin the interest in the amount of 400 million euros.

Expert “green” on budget issues, Sven-Christian Kindler urged to reduce the debt burden of Greece. He finds it unacceptable to sanitize the budget of Germany billions of dollars of accrued interest from Greek bonds. According to Kindler, Greece took austerity measures and fulfill their commitment. Now, the Eurogroup should “fulfill their promises”, said the expert, “green”.

We will remind, in 2010 Greece receives financial assistance from the European Union institutions and the IMF. Payments third aid package in the amount of 86 billion euros will be completed in August.

Earlier in June, European creditors have agreed on the next tranche for Greece in the amount of 1 billion euros.

It is expected that on 21 June the Finance Ministers of Europe will discuss a further reduction in Greece’s debt burden.
