Germany has allocated €8 million in humanitarian aid to Ukraine

The funds are aimed organization of the Red Cross for assistance to residents of Donbass.

The German Federal government has allocated 8 million euros on humanitarian activities of the International Committee of the red cross in Ukraine. About it tells the press service of the Embassy of Germany in Ukraine.

“Support is provided in the framework of the “ICRC assistance, protection, prevention and cooperation relations in Ukraine in 2016-2017”. After Germany earlier this year has already allocated for support of the project of 7 million euros, is currently made a decision to increase funding of 1 million euros,” – stated in the message.

The Embassy recalled that in 2015 Germany has financed humanitarian activities of the ICRC in Ukraine in the amount of EUR 3M illionos.


It works to Eastern Ukraine and covers the following areas: medical care, treatment of trauma, support of health care institutions, preventive measures, provision of food and personal hygiene items, water supply, training of medical and maintenance personnel, search missing persons and family reunification, custody of prisoners, gathering information about the danger of mines and remnants of weapons, etc.
