Germany on Nord stream-2: Kiev should not fear

ФРГ о Северном потоке-2: Киеву не стоит опасаться

The German government wants to be a mediator between Moscow and Kiev in the issue of construction of the Russian pipeline.

Berlin is ready to become a mediator in negotiations between Moscow and Kiev on building of gas pipeline Nord stream-2. About Managing Director of the Eastern Committee of German economy Michael harms said in an interview with DPA.

Harms stressed that the main issue is the volume of gas transit through Ukraine after the implementation of the project.

He argues that Kiev should not fear a complete cessation of deliveries, as Nord stream-2 after the launch did not immediately reach its full capacity.

“The Federal government can be a mediator, because Germany and the German economy play an important role in this project,” said harms.

Project Nord stream-2 involves the construction of two lines with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year. The pipe will lay off the coast of Russia through the Baltic sea to Germany, next to the existing Nord stream. The bill was opposed by some EU countries and Ukraine.

We will remind, Germany has already begun construction of the German pipeline Nord stream-2.

It also became known that Finland has issued a full set of permits for the construction of the Finnish section of the Russian pipeline.
