A solution to the dispute around the future role of Ukraine as a transit country for Russian gas after the launch of Nord stream-2 can be found in the coming days.

The transit of Russian gas through Ukraine to Europe will be possible in the future. This was stated on Tuesday, may 15, in Moscow, the Minister of economy of Germany Peter Altmaier, after a meeting with Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

According to him, the decision in the dispute around the future role of Ukraine as a transit country for Russian gas after the launch of the gas pipeline Nord stream-2 can be found in the coming days.

“The transit of natural gas from Russia via Ukraine will be possible in the future,” said Altmaier.

He noted that he is “very optimistic” hopes for the future cooperation in the gas sphere “in the form, which in recent years was not.”

“All concerns are taken into account!” – the Minister wrote in his Twitter microblog in response to a tweet German journalist Julian turnip, which in connection with the negotiation of Altmayer with the acting Minister of energy of Russia Alexander Novak expressed the hope that “will be taken into consideration concerns” not only Ukraine, but also Germany.

Noted that Altmaier and Novak discussed “the state and prospects of cooperation in the energy sector both from the supply of energy and implementation of infrastructure projects, and cooperation between businesses”, in particular, the implementation of the gas pipeline Nord stream-2.

Earlier it was reported that Berlin is ready to become a mediator in negotiations between Moscow and Kiev on building of gas pipeline Nord stream-2.
