Global steel prices peaked in the three years

Мировые цены на сталь достигли максимума за три года

A feature of the season was a sharp reduction in the supply of steel from China to other markets.

The average international steel prices in September 2017 were at the highest level since September 2014. This was stated in the British analytical company MEPS, reports Steelland.

According to analysts, the steel market in the third quarter, has experienced a series of price increases, without encountering any resistance from buyers. A feature of the season was a sharp reduction in the supply of steel from China to other markets.

Analysts predict a slight decline in average sales in the last quarter of 2017. Higher prices and sales volumes in Europe are expected to more than offset weaker conditions in North America and China.

In MEPS believe that the global demand for steel in the end of the year will fall, and sellers will reduce the stocks in warehouses in anticipation of low sales season. These factors will likely exert downward pressure on prices of steel products.

In recent weeks the cost of steelmaking raw materials has declined, but sharply increased costs for consumables such as electrodes and refractories. Probably summed up in the MEPS, this will minimize the downward movement in steel sales figures in the coming months.

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine dropped in the ranking of steel producers.
