Ukraine still has a moratorium on the sale of land

The result of the land reform the people will become richer, not the opposite, promised the Prime Minister.

The liberalization of the land market in Ukraine will start in mid-2020. This was stated by Prime Minister Alexey Goncharuk during the meeting of President Vladimir Zelensky and members of the Cabinet, the leadership of the Verkhovna Rada and representatives of law enforcement agencies in Kiev, reports Interfax-Ukraine on Monday, September 2.

“We stress that we model it (the liberalization of the land market – ed.) so that no one lost land and people to become richer as a result of this reform, not Vice versa. We carefully approach to planning, and the market will be introduced when we are ready, and we planned to do it in the middle of next year,” he said.

It is known that the President’s team Zelensky intends soon to present the bill on the opening of the land market with the prospect of making it this year (with the precondition of the transition period to 10 months). However, before the opening of the land market, I believe in the Office of the President and the party the Servant of the people, should take a number of such preventive measures as the fight against raiding and the provision of affordable financing to farmers.

We will remind, in February of 2019 has been extended the ban on the sale of farmland until January 1, 2020.

Later, the President Zelensky has promised to open the land market to 40 million hectares.
