Google has released a Doodle to celebrate the 400th anniversary since the death of Shakespeare

On April 23, 1616, 400 years ago, died the great playwright William Shakespeare.

In honor of this day, Google has released a Doodle with a picture of Shakespeare surrounded by images and characters from his works.

William Shakespeare was born April 23, 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon, the son of a craftsman. William studied at grammar school, considered one of the best; the main subjects were English, Latin and ancient Greek languages.

At 18, Shakespeare married the daughter of a neighbouring landowner. His wife was older than 8 years, the family had three children.

About 1587, the year William moved to London, about 1593 he joined the drama troupe R. Berbedzha, working as an actor and as a Director and as a playwright.

1590 to 1594 in the Shakespeare year created the so-called “early chronicle” – historical play “Richard III,” “Henry IV,” the tragedy “Titus Andronicus”, the Comedy “the taming of the shrew,” “Comedy of errors”. He writes of the poem – “Venus and Adonis” (1593) and “lucrece” (1594), sonnets and plays. Only sonnets in the period from 1592 to 1600 year he has written more than a hundred.

In the years 1595-1600 William Shakespeare were written “King John”, “Richard II”, “the tempest”, “Midsummer night’s Dream”, “Romeo and Juliet,” “merchant of Venice”.

In the early 1600s in the works of Shakespeare was the turning point – the major genre for him is a tragedy. In the period 1608-1614 years Shakespeare creates some of his best works: “hamlet”, “Othello”, “King Lear”, “Macbeth”.

During his creative life of the great playwright wrote 17 comedies, 11 tragedies, 5 poems, over 150 sonnets and about 10 Chronicles. Still tense debate about whether Shakespeare is the author of all these and other works.

Soon, for reasons unknown, Shakespeare is retiring and returned from London home, where family and spends his last years of life. There are suggestions that he was at this period ill: his will, dated March 15, 1616, written quite inaudible.

Died the great playwright William Shakespeare on 23 April 1616 in Stratford-upon-Avon.

According to the will, his body was buried under the altar of the Church in Stratford.
