The Chinese version of Google can be launched in the next six months, yet it is awaiting the approval of the Chinese authorities.

Google plans to launch in China a censored version of its search engine, writes The Intercept. Google’s search engine for China to block certain websites and search terms, clarifies the issue.

In particular, queries about human rights, democracy, religion, and peaceful protests are in the “black list”.

Work on the project under the code name Dragonfly is from spring of last year. Progress has been made since the last meeting in December, the Executive Director of Google Sundar Picha with a senior Chinese official.

The Chinese version of Google can be launched in the next six months, yet it is awaiting the approval of the Chinese authorities.

Recall, the main search platform Google is blocked in China along with the video platform YouTube.

Earlier it became known that Google will release the second generation of Pixelbook.
