Groisman promised the farmers a billion

The Cabinet is interested in developing the agricultural potential in the country and in the world.

The government is finalizing a program of support to the Ukrainian farming and lays in the draft state budget for 2018 is not less than a billion for its financing. This was announced by Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman during his working visit to Ternopil region on Thursday, July 20.

“Today, we are working to create a quality program to support farming. In the coming weeks should go to the finalization of decisions… the draft budget for the year 2018, the government will propose to Parliament to allocate UAH 1 billion to support small farms – to the countryside was not only growing, but processing of the product, created jobs” – quoted Prime Minister’s press service of the Cabinet.

Groisman also said that the agricultural sector generates 12% of GDP. In addition, Ukraine occupies a leading place in the world on volumes of export of some agricultural crops, in particular sunflower oil, wheat.

Recall that in 2016 Ukraine gathered the biggest grain harvest since independence, 66 million tons.
