Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman will appeal to the National Commission, carrying out state regulation in spheres of power and utilities (NKREKU), with the request to limit the increase of tariffs for heat supply in the regions. He said this during an hour of questions to the government in the Verkhovna Rada on Friday, November 23.

“We believed that the maximum, as it can increase the price, it is 16%. But we know that there is an increase of more than 25%, and 30%. And it is simply impossible to prevent, because it is inappropriate the increase,” said Groysman, answering the question of MP on non-uniform increase in tariffs in different cities.

The Prime Minister said that plans to appeal to the national Commission, “to help us to check”. “If need be, we will run and the State audit service”, he added.

Groisman noted that “the gas price is very important but also very important technology for the production of heat, loss of regulatory excess”.

The Prime Minister reminded that the boiler houses owned by local authorities and depends on investments in energy efficient technology.

Earlier Groisman said that if gas went up 23%, heat tariffs should not rise more than 16%. It is expected that the new tariffs for heat are approved in December and January.
