Groysman: the Government plans to support farmers ‘ movement in Ukraine

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman held a meeting with representatives of agrarian business to discuss topical issues of further development of agro-industrial complex. About it reported in a press-service of the government.

“I want to emphasize the absolute support of the government, understanding the need for the development of the agricultural sector, including the creation of conditions to ensure that we our agricultural products not only raw materials were sent, and focused, in particular, on more deep processing, added value in Ukraine, developing the potential of our internal market and, undoubtedly, supported the export of our products,” – said Groisman.

As noted, the government supports the idea of developing a system of targeted support for small farms up to 500 ha of what was agreed in the previous meeting, Groysman with representatives of the agricultural sector during his presidency in Parliament.

“Our position is that we want to support farmers ‘movement in Ukraine”, – he said.

The participants of the discussion noted the need for the withdrawal of domestic agricultural producers “from the shadows”, which will contribute to the implementation of a transparent and equitable system of taxation. They noted the need to support small farms, in particular by encouraging co-operatives.

The representatives of agrarian business have shown interest in supporting the institutions of vocational education for quality training.

The Prime Minister assured the representatives of the agricultural sector in its support: “I’m interested in the fact that the agricultural sector has grown. I’m interested in the fact that you have expanded production and deepened processing of raw materials. I’m interested in the fact that your products are competitive, and ready to support small producers through cooperation. I’m interested in the fact that the tax system was effective from the point of view of filling the budget”, – he stressed.

The parties agreed to resume the activities of the working group for producing proposals on how to address key industry issues. A group headed by the Minister of agrarian policy and food of Ukraine Taras Kutovoy.

We will remind, the Ministry of agrarian policy expects for the allocation of UAH 3 billion support to farmers next year.
