About 57% of respondents believe the ban of artists and of Russian films in Ukraine failed and the restriction of citizens ‘ rights.

Half of the citizens of Ukraine think a mistake to ban Russian TV channels, movies and artists. This is evidenced by data all-Ukrainian survey conducted by the Kiev international Institute of sociology (KIIS), reports on Tuesday, October 16, Interfax.

Noted that this percentage has increased slightly since February 2018.

At the same time, 30% of respondents believe that in Ukraine too many “Pro-Kremlin propaganda” by the media, and the state and society is poorly responsive (in February so thought 33%). However, about 35% could not answer or refused to answer.

According to the survey, 50% of respondents believe that the ban Russian TV channels in Ukraine is a mistake and leads to restriction of citizens ‘ rights (in February, thought 44% of the population), while 33% hold the opposite opinion and believe that the ban Russian TV channels in Ukraine is a necessary step to protect the state. About 18% of respondents were undecided or refused to answer this question.

“57% of respondents believe the ban of artists and of Russian films in Ukraine failed and the restriction of citizens’ rights. 27% of respondents justify the ban. About 17% of respondents were undecided or refused to answer,” according to the data of sociological research.

Moreover, about 28% of Ukrainians are convinced that the ban on Russian social networks is a necessary step to protect the state. The opposite view is held about 46% of the respondents. About 26% were undecided or did not answer this question.

The question of whether the introduction of quotas for Ukrainian language in the broadcast of radio and television of the respondents were distributed about equally between 37% believe it is appropriate, 40% – no. And with Feb support the introduction of quotas has slightly increased. About 23% are undecided or refused to answer this question.

It is reported that the survey was conducted from 8 to 23 September by personal interview. The study involved 2026 respondents aged over 18 from all Ukrainian regions (except Crimea and uncontrolled Ukrainian authorities territories in Donetsk and Lugansk regions). Statistical sampling error does not exceed 3.3 percent.

We will remind, for the last four years, the State Agency of Ukraine for the movie banned the 780 Russian films and TV series.

Also in Ukraine has expanded the list of prohibited books. At the moment it 210 name.
