The separatists were planning to undermine the bridges across the Dniester and Dniester estuary, to cut off the southern Bessarabia from Ukraine, says the head of the SBU.

In April 2015 the separatists were planning to capture the South of the Odessa region and proclaim “Bessarabian people’s Republic”. This was in the context of the speech at Ukrainian week in London said the head of the SBU Basil Gritsak.

According to him, they had to blow up the bridges across the Dniester and Dniester estuary.

“Undermining these two bridges, the southern Bessarabia would be cut off from the main part of Ukraine, and then with the territory of Transnistria was supposed to go the so-called “green men”, – said Hrytsak.

Further, according to him, it was planned to develop the offensive in the direction of Moldova, Romania, and so on. “We broke the plans”, – said the head of the SBU.

According to him, in April 2015, the SBU has been deployed to the area their fighters, which made the 700 mile March from Kramatorsk to Odessa to spend at the same time a large number of searches, arrests and seizure of explosives.

The leader of the “Bessarabian people’s Council”, according to Hrytsak, was to be the acting people’s Deputy. While his name he did not name.

We will remind, in the summer of 2015, the SBU said about the detention of participants of the “people’s Parliament of Bessarabia”, which was established in April in Odessa.
