Hungary against the Ukrainian law on education

In Budapest believe that the Hungarians in Ukraine will not be able to receive education in their native language.

The Minister of foreign Affairs of Hungary It Szijjártó, on Monday, September 11, calls the Ambassador of Ukraine in Hungary Love Nepop due to the recently adopted by Ukraine of the law on education, reports Radio Liberty.

As stated by the press Secretary of the foreign Ministry of Hungary Tamas Mentzer, Minister Szijjártó intend to personally inform you that he considers the new law on education “shame and disgrace”.

According to him, Szijjártó ordered that Hungarian diplomats did not support any Ukrainian initiative in international organizations, as well as that Hungary no longer will support important decisions.

In all forums of the UN, OSCE and the European Union, Budapest will raise the issue of amendment in the language article of the law of Ukraine on education, said Menzer.

He also noted that on the personal instructions Szijjártó, the Hungarian diplomacy will prevent Ukraine in realization of important Affairs in the international arena.

Mentzer explained that the reasons for this decision Szijjártó, on the one hand, these changes in the Ukrainian law on education, which make it impossible to obtain national minorities of Ukraine, including 150-thousand Hungarian ethnic minorities, education in their native language.

On the other hand, when Siarto raised on Thursday the matter before the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin at a meeting in the framework of the EU program “Eastern partnership”, the response of the Ukrainian colleagues was “unacceptable” for the Hungarian side emphasized Mentzer.

We will remind that the Verkhovna Rada adopted a new law on education, according to which introduces 12-year schooling, raises the minimum salaries of teachers up to four times the subsistence minimum.
