The Minister of foreign Affairs of Hungary regards the “stab in the back” the law on education in Ukraine.

The Minister of foreign Affairs of Hungary péter Szijjártó said that Budapest considers a “stab in the back” the adoption by Ukraine of the law on education, reports Radio Liberty.

During a meeting with his Romanian counterpart Teodor Melescanu Szijjártó noted the “naturalness” of a joint statement of the Budapest and Bucharest against the Ukrainian law.

“It is much better to create a history of success than to deal with the conflicts,” he said.

Szijjártó believes that the education act is contrary to the Association agreement between Ukraine and the EU, the signing of which was supported by Hungary and Romania.

The Minister also saw a serious threat to the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada went laws on language and citizenship.

In the view of Budapest, the education bill violates the rights of national minorities in Ukraine.

Latvia has supported the Ukrainian law on education

Recall, 28 September in Ukraine came into force the education act, which provides for 12 years of education in the school and enhancing the role of the Ukrainian language. In the Hungarian foreign Ministry said that they will block the rapprochement between Ukraine and the EU because of the law on education.
