The international monetary Fund is in favour of deeper structural reforms in Ukraine to improve living standards in the country. This was stated by the managing Director of the IMF Christine Lagar in Munich, the press service of the IMF on Sunday, February 16.

On the sidelines of the Munich security conference, Lagarde held a meeting with presidential candidate, leader of Batkivshchyna Yulia Tymoshenko. According to the head of the IMF, the conversation was on the latest economic developments in Ukraine and the need for further implementation of the reform program under the Memorandum with the Fund, including the fight against corruption.

“I stressed the need for Ukraine to maintain the gains made in restoring macroeconomic stability and to continue with deeper structural reforms needed to achieve sustainable economic growth and improve people’s lives,” said Lagarde.
