Federal court of Michigan has canceled a recount in the presidential election in the United States. This decision was made by Federal district judge mark goldsmith. He referred to the decision of the court of appeals of Michigan, which concluded that a recount was not warranted, the AP reports.

In the opinion of the court of appeal, the candidate of the green Party Jill Stein, who initiated the recount, has no chance to win, so it is not a “targeted candidate”.

Goldsmith also noted that Stein did not give him sufficient grounds for verification of the votes cast.

In turn, the representatives of the former candidates have said they will appeal the decision of the goldsmith to the Supreme court of Michigan.

Recall that in Michigan, the US President-elect Donald trump won a victory over Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton and received 16 electoral votes. However, the preponderance trump was small. Michigan had to count before the process was stopped, the results in the 20 districts out of 83. The recount was launched on 5 December.
