“They arrived in Moscow on may 2: Afanasiev arrived by plane from Syktyvkar, and Yuri Soloshenko arrived by train from Nizhny Novgorod”, – said on Wednesday a member of the Public observant Commission (ONK) Zoya Svetova.

According to her, the members of the PMC visited the Ukrainians in the SIZO “Lefortovo”.

“What are they doing there nobody knows. The official version is that they got there under article 77.1 of the Criminal Executive code of the Russian Federation, that is, for carrying out investigative actions and court proceedings,” said Svetova.

As reported, on March 10, the Ministry of justice of Ukraine sent the Russian side the request for the return to the territory of Ukraine Oleg Sentsov, Yuriy Soloshenko, Alexander Kolchenko, and Gennady Afanasiev sentenced in Russia. The next day, the Ministry of justice of Russia said on receipt of this appeal and noted that he will review it within 30 days according to the Russian legislation.

We will remind, the North-Caucasian district military court in August sentenced Oleg Sentsov to 20 years in prison. Other Ukrainian public activist Oleksandr Kolchenko – to 10 years of imprisonment. Both were accused of terrorist activities. Two more defendants in the case — Alexei Chirny and Gennady Afanasiev, received seven years of imprisonment.
