В Одессе выпустили из СИЗО россиянина, обвиняемого по делу 2 мая

Malinovsky the district of Odessa made the decision to release under house arrest from jail for one of the accused in the case of events on may 2 the Russians – Evgeny Nefedov. The decision was adopted at the meeting on Friday, writes “Interfax-Ukraine”.

The court explained that currently already studied most of the evidence in the case, and the measure of restraint in the form of house arrest is sufficient that the accused could abscond and leave the country.

This decision caused a negative reaction from the Pro-Ukrainian activists, who were present at the meeting.

In early April Mefyodov announced the start of a hunger strike due to the fact that the court has not released him from jail. In December 2015 Mefyodov right in the court cut his hand, due to the fact that the court has not released him on bail.

Malinovsky district court now considers one of the most high-profile cases on the events of 2 may 2014 in Odessa (in terms of events in the Greek area). The trial was repeatedly postponed because of the unwillingness of the prosecution to provide evidence in the case against one of the accused Russian Evgeny Nefedov.

May 2 in Odessa during the riots 48 people died and more than 200 were injured. Most of the victims died in the House of trade unions. The investigation revealed that the riots in Odessa were organized and deliberately planned. A few days later the police arrested the main defendants of extremist organizations, as well as several police officers. In addition, the former Deputy chief of GU Ministry of internal Affairs of Ukraine in Odessa region Dmitry Fuchedzhi was declared wanted. He crossed the border of Ukraine and disappeared from the investigation.
