On 12 September, 36 students from Ukrainian universities participated in the first round of the project “Marine-2019”.

Borys Kolesnikov, the second time holding a contest among students who study in the fields of shipbuilding, sea and river transport.

To participate in proektstroyservis 1 500 students of the leading Maritime and transport educational institutions. In the first stage the contestants are tested on core subjects.

President of the charity Fund Borys Kolesnikov congratulated students with the beginning of the contest and wished all the participants good luck. “My Foundation has been implementing “Marine business” for talented, ambitious and motivated students. The winners of the contest have the fateful opportunity to meet with top representatives of the professional community, acquire useful contacts and connections to do an internship abroad, and further to apply this experience in Ukraine. Today’s contestants tomorrow will worthily represent our country on the international stage, and wish them success!” —said Boris Kolesnikov.

Contestants who successfully pass the testing in core subjects, expect two more qualifying stages. Second round of testing on technical English, and in the final —to protect its own projects to an expert jury.

“The Foundation of Boris Kolesnikov gives students a unique opportunity to plunge into their professional community, to communicate with the leading engineers and shipbuilders, to see what you have accomplished industry leaders and to find their place in the profession. I will participate in “Maritime business” as long as necessary for victory, will make every effort, because it is interested in becoming a good specialist and find a job you love,” says the contestant Alyona town hall.

Thirty winners will be awarded with a trip to the Netherlands. The winners of the “Maritime Affairs” will attend the international industry forum Europort 2019. Exhibition of sea and river transportation, port and marine technology and equipment will be held from 5 to 8 November in Rotterdam.

“We support the educational initiative of the Foundation of Boris Kolesnikov and welcome the participation of our students in the project. The competition is 50 people in the place, and it is much more than competition for admission to the Institute. I wish all the participants to believe in themselves, to learn to win. By participating in the contest, the guys make friends and future colleagues, get extra motivation, you know how important it is to devote his student years learning, then to professional life not to go with the flow, and to determine the development of the industry to enter international markets, to become a competent partner for large international companies. That’s why I think “ships” start in the profession and a very powerful motivating factor,” — said Valentin Cimsir, Director of the Danube Institute of National University “Odessa Maritime Academy”.

Recall that in 2018 in the contest “ships” took part 605 students. The Foundation of Boris Kolesnikov has awarded 30 winners of the project a trip to Greece and visit an international exhibition of shipbuilding industry and Maritime Affairs 2018 Posidonia in Athens.
