OSCE observers commits the same number of violations of the ceasefire, as it was before the “bread of truce”, which came into force on 1 July.

More than 160 people have become victims of the conflict in the Donbas since the beginning of 2018. Such data was announced at a briefing first Deputy head of the Special monitoring mission (SMM) of the OSCE in Ukraine Alexander hug.

It is reported by Interfax-Ukraine on Thursday, 2 August.

“Only for the month of July we have confirmed the information on seven victims. This year the total number of victims amounts to more than 160 people – is both wounded and killed,” he said.

Hug said that the OSCE SMM captures the same number of violations of the ceasefire, as it was before the “bread of truce”, which came into force on 1 July.

“After confirmation of adherence to the ceasefire on 1 July, the mission (OSCE – ed.) recorded a reduction of violations of the cease-fire. But then for the entire month, the mission has recorded 15 thousand violations of the cease-fire. And again we now fix the level of violations, which was until July 1,” he said.

According to Alexander hug, the situation in the Donbass “unstable and unpredictable”.

“The reasons for which still does not stop the violence – close ratio positions and the presence of heavy weapons, which long ago had to be taken away” – he concluded.

In early July, the OSCE said about 150 injured civilians in the Donbass this year. Then it was explained that 29 people were killed and 121 were wounded. In particular, this year 15 people were killed by mines or unexploded ordnance.

Earlier, the President of the European Council Donald Tusk announced that in 2014, in the Donbass killed more than 10 thousand people.
