In the EU, expect more reforms in Ukraine – Mogherini

В ЕС ожидают больших реформ в Украине - Могерини

EU high representative for the common foreign policy in a conversation with the President and Prime Minister of Ukraine has declared necessity of creation of the anti-corruption court.

In the EU recognize the fact of holding in Ukraine of a number of reforms, but expect greater resolve in continuing the work, especially in the sphere of fight against corruption. On Monday, March 19, said Federica Mogherini at a press conference after the meeting of the EU Council on foreign Affairs to discuss the Ukrainian question, reports UNIAN.

“We discussed our support for the reform process in Ukraine. We recognize that there have been several reforms, especially at the end of last year, which was very helpful. Is reform in the energy sector, pension reform, several other. But there are other areas where the work was done, but we would like to see more determination,” said Mogherini.

However, the EU’s high representative for the common foreign and security policy Mogherini noted that the reforms are much more difficult than to encourage them.

“It is even more difficult, especially in a country that has a conflict on its territory, and enters the election phase. We know this quite well. But we have expressed – and I did personally very open – waiting to the President and the Prime Minister of Ukraine, particularly anti-corruption must continue to work with education Higher anti-corruption court, with the abolition of the need for anti-corruption activists to fill in the electronic Declaration” – detailed it.

According to Mogherini, there are also “other steps that we see necessary to consolidate reforms that do not need the EU, but the Ukrainian citizens”.

“It is also an investment in the Ukrainian resistance against the conflict in the East”, – said EU high representative.

Earlier, Mogherini said that the EU will continue to fully support Ukraine.

As reported, Mogherini visited in Ukraine.
