Ukraine needs to urgently establish anti-corruption court. On Wednesday, January 10, said the head of delegation of European Union to Ukraine Hugh Mingarelli in the Ukrainian radio broadcast.

According to the Ambassador, over the past year significant progress has been made in the fight against corruption.

“New laws, new institutions, but it is also clear that a long road ahead. Today, corruption remains a very serious disease, which affects the entire Ukrainian society. But we know what we need to do in order to advance in the fight against corruption,” said Mingarelli.

He noted that the need to strengthen established anti-corruption bodies, including the National anti-corruption Bureau, the National Agency for prevention of corruption and others.

“And also urgently need to make the anti-corruption court which is a very long talk and insists the Venice Commission”, – the diplomat said.

According to him, it is necessary that as soon as possible NACP is given the necessary resources for validation, verification of electronic declarations of persons authorized to perform state functions.

“And the demand that civil society activists to declare their income, should be immediately removed,” said Mingarelli.

We will remind, earlier Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko declared that in Ukraine the process of creating an anti-corruption court can take up to a year and a half.
