В Раде считают блокировку сайтов недемократической

In this form the bill may not be adopted, according to the “information” the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada.

The parliamentary Committee for Informatization and communications are encouraged to send a draft law on extrajudicial blocking of websites for revision. The corresponding decision was announced by the Chairman of the Committee Oleksandr Danchenko, RBC-Ukraine online reports on Tuesday, September 4.

According to him, many of the provisions in the bill are not democratic.

“De facto, this bill concerns a subject of reference of our Committee. So, of course, our Committee very seriously considered this bill. Even between sessions. We understand that this bill in this form can not be accepted in any way. The way in which the bill was prepared by the authors, can not take it. It is necessary to reject and modify,” – said Danchenko.

He stressed that the Committee on Informatization and communication are not determined by the base for consideration of the bill On amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine regarding counteraction to threats to national security in the information sphere.

“My vision is to make a new bill professionally with the public unions in order to on the one hand to protect the information space from an aggressor state, on the other hand, under the guise of war, not to distort all the rights and freedoms of citizens”, – said Danchenko.

We will remind, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on national security and defence recommended that the Parliament adopt the bill No. 6688 as a basis and modifying for a second reading subject to the ECHR and the application of the Convention on fundamental rights and freedoms of the individual. Later in the Rada refused to consider the bill.

OSCE urged to change the law on blocking of sites in Ukraine. It was noted that the bill could threaten free access to information on the Internet.
