In the parliamentary elections that took place in Cyprus most of the voters voted for the ruling right-wing party and for the Communist party, reported Reuters.

For the Democratic party voted for 30.6% of voters, for the Communist AKEL 25.6%, the report said.

Far-right party ELAM has overcome the threshold, gaining 3.6 percent. This will provide her the right to represent the two representatives in Parliament.

The report also notes that the success of the ruling party in elections showed how strong the position of the current President of Cyprus Nikos Anastacia, whose term expires in 2018.
