Ukrainian TV channels are switching to digital broadcasting. This is stated in the report of the National Council on television and radio.

So, with July 31, in the Kiev and Kirovohrad region stopped broadcasting analog TV and 31 August throughout Ukraine.

According to the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers in Ukraine continues the process of transition of terrestrial television broadcasting from analogue standard software distribution to the digital DVB-T2.

“This means that analog TV will be turned off to replace a more progressive digital standard, which is a high quality television signal, and more programs,” the document says.

Noted that such changes will not affect cable TV subscribers and owners of satellite antennas. At the moment (after the annexation of Crimea and occupation of part of the territory of Donetsk and Lugansk regions) in 143 settlements of Ukraine is a multi-channel digital TV network consisting of four multiplexes MX-1, MX-2, MX-3 and MX-5. Digital transmitters for free viewing covers 28 national TV channels and 4 regional TV channel in each of the regions of Ukraine.

In Kiev, 41 and 43 TV channels are distributed on the 10 digital programs two local multiplexes, which you can view for free.

Thus, the national Council on TV encourages broadcasters to inform the public about the transition to digital broadcasting.

In addition, the regulator encourages distributors of digital equipment to increase the supply of tuners and TV sets to receive digital signal. In particular, the demand among the population will increase by tuners and televisions that can receive terrestrial TV in DVB-T2 (MPEG-4), as well as DAB+.

The final switch-off of analogue signal in Ukraine to be held in April-may 2019.

Previously, analog television in Ukraine was scheduled to deactivate in 2015.
