In Ukraine brought the case because of a visit to Crimea by German deputies

В Украине завели дело из-за посещения Крыма немецкими депутатами

Andrew Miller initiated the commencement of proceedings in respect of the delegation of German parliamentarians

For the illegal visit to the occupied territories in Ukraine could face a penalty of up to eight years of imprisonment.

Embassy of Ukraine in Germany initiated the opening of criminal proceedings in respect of the regional delegation of German parliamentarians from the party Alternative for Germany. This was stated by Ukrainian Ambassador Andrew Miller in an interview with European truth.

“The fact that you are a Deputy, not an excuse. We have to use the in absentia conviction, and other mechanisms to show the German side that we are talking about violations of the Ukrainian legislation”, – he said.

The Ambassador stressed that according to the laws of Ukraine, for illegal visit to the occupied territories could face a penalty of up to eight years of imprisonment. He added that to achieve punishment for the German MPs will be difficult, as in the criminal code of Germany there is no article about a similar crime, and the country does not extradite its citizens.

Thus, according to him, Ukraine continues “the creative process” by bringing to justice not only deputies, but also of lead singer H. P. Baxter, who acted in the Crimea.

We will remind, the delegation of eight German regional parliamentarians visited annexed the Peninsula in February. They were all representatives of the conservative and eurosceptic party Alternative for Germany.

Then the German government criticized the visit, Recalling the recognition by Germany of the Crimea as part of Russia. But Ukraine’s Ambassador explained to German MPs, why not go to the Crimea.
