In March, prices for foodstuffs and soft drinks grew by 1.1%

Consumer prices in March compared to March 2017 increased by 13.2%. Since the beginning of the year the prices grew by 3.5%, while core inflation was 2.7%.

Consumer prices in Ukraine in March 2018 was 1.1% compared to 0.9% in February. This was reported by the State statistics service of Ukraine on Tuesday, April 10.

At the same time, in annual terms (March-2018 March-2017) growth in consumer prices slowed down to 13.2% from 14% at the end of February.

Core inflation in March accelerated to 1.4% from 0.6% in February, but in annual terms it slowed to 9.4% from 9.6% at the end of February.

State statistics service clarifies that from the beginning of year consumer prices in Ukraine grew by 3.5%, while core inflation was 2.7%.

In March, prices for foodstuffs and soft drinks rose 1.1%. Most (5% and 3%) grew vegetables and fruit. 1.6% and 0.8% increase in prices for fish and fish products, butter, bread, pasta, cheese, rice, meat and meat products. At the same time 3,6-0,2% cheaper buckwheat, eggs, sugar, milk, lard.

Prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco increased by 1.3%, including in tobacco products – by 1.7%, alcoholic beverages – by 0.8%.

Earlier the world Bank predicted that inflation in Ukraine this year could reach 10%.
