Industrial production in Ukraine in 2017 fell 0.1%

The state statistics service estimates that in 2017, industrial production in Ukraine decreased by 0.1% compared with the year 2016.

Last year industrial production in Ukraine decreased by 0.1% compared with the year 2016. This was reported on the official website of the State statistics service.

The Department clarifies that, with the correction for the effect of calendar days, industrial production in December-2017 December-2016 increased by 0.4%.

State statistics Committee indicates that in relation to the previous month in December last year industrial production grew by 1%, and taking into account the seasonal factor – by 1.9%.

In the manufacturing sector in December-2017 December-2016 growth was 4.4%, whereas in mining and quarrying was recorded a decline of 4.4%, and in the supply of electricity, gas, steam and conditioned air – 13.3%, which most likely was due to an unusually warm early winter.

According to the report, in General over the past year, the processing industry grew by 4%, but in mining and quarrying declined by 5.8% and in the supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning – by 6.5%.

In January-December of the current year, the most positive result in the industry were recorded in Ivano-Frankivsk (12,0%),Odessa (11.8 percent), Rivne (9.0%) and Ternopil (8,4%), Zhytomyr (8,3%), Vinnytsia (8,1%), Kyiv (7.9 per cent), Chernivtsi (7,1%), Kharkiv (6.1 percent), Zaporizhia (5,9%), Lviv (5,7%), Volyn (by 5.1%).

In the Luhansk region, industrial production in January-December 2017 compared with the January-December 2016 fell by 31% in Donetsk oblast – 12.6%, including in December 2017 in comparison with December 2016 in Luhansk region, the decline was 34%, in Donetsk – is 16.2% (excluding the ATO).

We will remind, in November of 2017, industrial production increased by 0.3% compared to the same month last year.
