In Ukraine sharply increased the forecast of grain harvest

В Украине резко повысили прогноз урожая зерновых

In this year’s grain harvest may reach last year’s figures, said Martyniuk

This year Ukrainian farmers can collect about 63 million tons of grain. Earlier it was expected the harvest to 60 million tons.

The Ministry of agrarian policy increased the forecast of grain harvest in 2018 to 63.1 million tonnes. On Tuesday, September 11, said the first Deputy Minister of agrarian policy and food of Ukraine Maxim Martyniuk on his page in Facebook.

“So, we adjust our previous estimate (60 million tonnes +) in the direction of increasing and expected that the harvest will amount to 63.1 million tonnes. Growth is a group of late crops. The weather conditions were far from optimal, but the loss was of a fragmentary character and in the end we have a decent ratio of wheat/fodder level 60/40,” wrote Martyniuk.

According to him, the forecast of grain exports also increased, to 42 million tons.

It was reported earlier that Ukraine reduced the yield of early grain crops. With an area of 9.9 million hectares harvested 34.3 million tons of grain, which is three million less than the year before.

Note, in the 2017-2018 marketing year in Ukraine for the first time in the last five years has been a fall in grain exports by 9.6%.

Last year grain harvest in Ukraine amounted to 61,28 million tons, 4.7 million tons lower than in 2016.
