The volumes put into operation of housing in urban areas were 63.5%

In January-June 2018 year, Ukraine has commissioned 3261,5 thousand square meters of total area of new residential buildings.

In the first half of 2018 have been commissioned almost a third less housing compared to the same period last year. It is reported by the state statistics Committee on Tuesday, August 28.

“In January-June 2018 year, Ukraine has commissioned 3261,5 thousand square meters of total area of residential buildings (new construction): 51,7% – in single-family homes, 48,2% – in homes with two or more apartments and 0.1% – in hostels”, – stated in the message.

The total area put into operation of housing in the I half of 2018, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, decreased by 29.2%.

The volumes put into operation of housing in the cities was 2070,1 thousand square meters, or 63.5% of the total, in rural areas – 1191,4 thousand square meters (36.5 percent).

Also in the first six months has commissioned a cottage and garden houses of new construction with a total area of 195,2 thousand square meters, which is 7.4% more compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

“In General, in January-June 2018 commissioned residential buildings of new construction (in particular, cottage and garden houses) amounted to 3456,7 thousand square meters, compared with January-June 2017 less by 27.8%,” – noted in the state statistics.

Recall that in Ukraine began to rise in price real estate. For the first six months of 2018, prices in the primary market increased by 3.2% and 7%, and in the secondary – 1,2-5,6%, depending on the apartments. On the secondary market prices have risen by 3.5%

It was also reported that Ukraine wants to withdraw from the shadow market of rental housing.
