Social assistance will be granted to persons caring for children with serious illnesses but not yet having a disability.

In Ukraine for persons who care for children with serious illnesses, but do not have disability from January 1, 2019 will be paid social assistance. This was stated by Minister of social policy Andrei Reva, speaking at a government meeting on Wednesday, December 5, UKRINFORM reported.

“From January 1, 2019, a new type of social assistance for persons caring for children who have serious illnesses, but which have not yet been classified as disabled,” said Reva.

He said that the relevant law was adopted on the initiative of several deputies, and the Ministry of social policy it implements.

“Government at its last meeting, approved the procedure for providing such assistance”, – said the Minister.

However, he noted that “next year, the subsistence minimum for persons who lost work capacity, increased by 9.4 per cent from December next year 1638 UAH per month.”

Accordingly, said Reva, will grow the size of state social assistance to persons with disabilities from childhood and children with disabilities.

Earlier, the Minister of social policy said that the state social assistance receive approximately 44% of Ukrainians.

Andriy Reva also reported that in Ukraine, about 3,000 families receive an allowance for low-income, and nearly 400 thousand women and single mothers.
